Odalo M. Wasikhongo (b. 1978) is a painter, animator, and visual storyteller whose work transforms faith and color into revelation. Of African-American and Kenyan descent, he was raised in Madison, Wisconsin, and trained in Film/Video and Experimental Animation at the legendary California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), under the mentorship of American filmmaker, animator, and painter Jules Engle. He later earned his Master’s in Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago, bridging creative vision with cultural leadership.
Wasikhongo’s paintings pulse with life — bold black lines, radiant color, and spiritual energy colliding in rhythm and emotion. Each piece is a conversation between heaven and earth. “I use art as a living language,” he says, “to bring thought, awareness, and light to the unseen.” His work explores the tension between the divine and the human — between history, identity, and transcendence — forming a visual gospel of spirit and survival.
Beyond the canvas, Wasikhongo is the creator of Adventures with Bobby Little and other children’s books that teach imagination, vocabulary, and self-belief. His outreach spans school readings, animation workshops, and Freeing The Minds — a YouTube channel where he merges art, spirituality, and truth-telling for a global audience.
Before his role as Marketing Videographer at Madison College, Wasikhongo worked in Hollywood film and television with Disney Channel and Paramount Pictures — experiences that deepened his understanding of visual rhythm and storytelling. Across every medium, his mission remains constant:
to inspire thought, uplift the spirit, and awaken imagination through color and story.
